NAZARETH, PA —December 7, 2022— Kitchen Magic, the largest kitchen cabinet refacing company on the East coast, serving PA, NJ, NY, and CT, has released its kitchen design forecast for 2023. JT Norman, Product & Design Innovation Lead for the family-owned and operated kitchen remodeling firm, foresees a harmony of versatile design inspirations for the new year.
"In 2023, the kitchen (the heart of the home) will feel more like an extension of the home in the sense of an additional living space rather than just a utilitarian place to prepare food," observes Norman.
Countertops and backsplashes will continue to be the most popular feature to renovate, according to a 2022 Houzz report, with 91 percent of homeowners choosing new countertops and 86 percent purchasing backsplashes. In addition, Norman expects homeowners in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York to continue to embrace the following kitchen design trends for 2023.
The rise of natural materials continues to bring touches of the outdoors inside. Garner a calmer environment with a kitchen that is more of a living space. Quartz countertops hold solid and steady as a favorite, as does marble. Both elements bring softer patterns and colors for an earthy feel.
Minimal lines and details will bring elegance to kitchen cabinetry with two main possibilities. In 2023, flat-fronted cabinets with eye-catching handles or a minimalist style feature, fewer cabinet knobs and pulls (or none). Classic wooden fronts with milled details, vertical grain, and cabinet doors with integrated handles for a modern look. Minimalist cabinets continue to gain traction.
Updated storage solutions will change how homeowners’ function in the kitchen. Minimalism brings focus to clutter-free workspaces specifically designed for small appliances. Clutter-free workspaces to cook and entertain in creates a more stress-free environment.
Bold, distinctive backsplashes will bring verve to kitchens in the new year. In fact, the backsplash will be the focal point, with gleaming surfaces replacing matte finishes. In addition, expect glass tile, full slabs, and glossy ceramics with irregular lines that bring shapes of nature and warmth to the room. Kitchens that represent our individual preferences and cater to our distinct demands will become more prevalent in 2023.
