Wescue
Our West Highland Terrier Rescue Mission
Every day in America dogs and cats are abandoned at or rescued by local shelters. You can help by adopting a lucky pet, of course, but that’s not the only thing you can do.
Pet food donations are always welcome. So are dog treats, so trainers can reward good behavior and make the pets more adoptable. Pet dishes, pet beds and pet toys will help brighten a lonely day for the animals.
Cleaning supplies are also almost always welcome–check with your local shelter as to what types and brands they prefer.
To find your local pet shelter, enter your zip code here.
Remember, you may not be able to change the world, but you can change the world for one animal. For more information on Kitchen Magic’s Wescue effort, please feel free to give us a call at (610) 365-3140.

Where Do Dogs Come From?
Posted on April 16, 2010 Dogs have been companions to humans for at least 30,000 years, and possibly 100,000 years. It is believed that the first dogs were wolves who cooperated with humans in hunting. Later, when agriculture came along, the role that dogs performed also changed. The dogs we know today are descended from [...]

Support Your Local Shelter
Posted on May 28, 2010 When you buy a dog from a pet store, you may be supporting so-called “puppy mills.” There dogs are bred and raised in cramped, unhealthy and inhumane conditions. There are similar concerns about “kitten factories,” which are a smaller but growing problem. Some cities are taking steps to curb the [...]

Keep Pets and Kids Safe on the Fourth
Posted on July 2, 2010 The Fourth of July is one of America’s most festive holidays. Depending on where you are, there will be parades, hot air balloons, barbecues, concerts, fireworks and more.
